Every Contractor has been in the business since 1998. The company was founded by David Johnson.

The same year, Every Contractor provides its services to millions of residential and commercial customers throughout the United States. The goal of the company is to make finding a building or home improvement contractor easy, safe and free. In January, 2000, Every Contractor officially launches its website. In August, 2006, EveryContractor launches full-time trade show division to travel the country exhibiting at local home and garden shows. At the present time, the company is considered to be one of the top online and offline local search providers serving the building and construction industry.
